cycle china

Hi, I'm Anne and I'm employed by Electric Ink.

electric ink has given me time off next year to raise money forwomenforwomen

I am going to China and I shall be cycling 450kms!!  I am here to try and persuade you to part with your money, not for me, but for Women for Women. I would be happy with any donation, whatever the size. With up to 250 babies dying every week in the UK as a result of complications during pregnancy, and 550 women miscarrying every day I hope you agree it is a very good cause.

More information.

As you may or may not be aware I have signed up to cycle 450kms in China next year for the charity Women for Women. This charity raises money for the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Trust.

Please click on the link above to find out more about the charity. The work this research centre carries out is absolutely fantastic in helping every woman in the UK have a successful pregnancy and birth. Every day in the UK alone, 550 women suffer a miscarriage so I hope you agree that this work is vital.

Women for Women is heading to Beijing for Professor Robert Winston's 10th women-only cycle ride to raise funds to improve the health of women and babies. The 450kms ride will take place over five days and will be another incredible adventure as the group cycle alongside rivers and through steep gorges, past tiny villages, ancient tombs and historical landmarks experiencing a China few westerners get to sample.

Funds raised are used to train women scientists and clinicians of the highest calibre to work on major research projects to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a range of devastating conditions that cause miscarriage, genetic diseases such as cystic fibrosis or muscular dystrophy, infertility and cancer.

The fundamental aim is to improve women's ongoing good health throughout their lives and to ensure that more women have a normal pregnancy with a healthy baby.

Women for Women is administered by the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecolgoy Trust. Professor Winston is Chairman of both the Trust and Women for Women.
